Breeding for CBC

Hello fellow growers and breeders! This is a long story so please hit that bong and kick back, relax and read my story! I am curious about strains that are high in cbc , which ones have the highest amount of cbc, and what is the highest amount anyone has personally seen on a certificate of analysis. I have been working on a strain from 50 year old bagseed I acquired from my great uncle. He had them in his sock drawer since 1972. He acquired them in Ithaca New York. Out of over 200 tiny old seeds I managed to get ONE plant to grow. It was an indica I believe afghani male. I sent a piece out and had it tested for cannabinoids . It ended up being high in cbc and I made a ton of crosses with it which were all knockout couchlock super Stoney weed. After ALOT of research I discovered the chemicals needed to reverse the sex of the male and produce female flowers which were then pollinated. I grew out 10 of these seeds and had those plants tested. One female plant I believe is extremely rare due to the incredibly high thc:cbc ratio. It comes in at a 1.5 to 1 ratio. Anyone here good at reading COA’S? I would like to know if this is truly as rare as I think it is.

It is nice to see other people looking for different things in their weed. I still want to grow out more CBD/THC 1 to 1 strains. The one thing I am starting the search for is THCV.

Check out Malberry seeds brother they got THCV landraces but usually sell seed by the kg.
Hemp Depot carried some discoubted old stock you could grab for cheap.
Edit: Memory might have failed me seen no THCv in the chart but def targeting certain ailments.

I am actually working on a cbd strain With these old genetics as well. I have F2’s and F3’s. It is my old afghani male crossed to green house seeds deep candy cbd. One particular pheno I had was 2:1 ratio but still very Stoney. It made my entire body vibrate and tingle. I should have kept a cut from that one, but I’ll find another someday.

Yes that is absolutely my plan to backcross the female. I still have the original male, and one other male that has much better cbc numbers. Thanks for the reply

Opening up the genepool with a Bx may sound paradox for some but considered this all coming from one plants slight recombinations doing a decent number of these increasing can help spread the few genetic recombinations of this one specimen recombined with its own offspring.

sure I remember reading that a lot of these strain were found to have high cbd as well as a few others
I think my mate took mila Jansen around South America and they found a lot of high cbc strains.
Can’t remember where exactly but it is in her book.

Makes sense i think i saw CBC first on Ace seeds testing papers to certain latin american / south east asian lines they where offering.

Being able to test each plant is a unfathomable. Legal state do have lots of advantages that way. Out here in the outlaw world everything is tested the old fashion way. Smoke forget and smoke again 🤣

Done by experienced experts.

Wow , thank you for this reply. The book you’re referring to is the hash queen book right? This is the first time I’ve heard about this book and one I’m very interested In Reading.

No i am really just talking about test results published on Ace seeds website (spanish seed company).

Nah, I’m an outlaw as well! Testing each plant is very expensive at $30/sample. It’s nice to be able to test young plant material in veg when breeding forward but in small batch. My dream is to be able to test in large scale to find the absolute best of the best. I recently smoked some of the most recent 1970’s female I grew out, pollinated two colas and the rest is for smoke testing 😉. My wife and I both said “what the fuck were they smoking in the 70’s?” This shit is absolutely narcotic, sleepy, melt your face off and trippy at the same time! Incredibly potent, much different than today’s big name “hype” strains. Once I get this plant backcrossed a few times I will share it with the community.
