clones/beginner breeding

It does take space to keep mothers and clones. Not as much as people think though. If you can run your cloner under a small light in your veg tent you can save space. Then when the mothers get too big, you clone them and move on. If you get a cloner they take care of them selves. Clones in domes require a little more attention because of humidity levels. You are going to need 2 tents to do clones and mothers well. One tent for veg and clones, the other for flowering.

Yes you can clone feminized strains just like regular's. I don't understand what you mean by "Can it be Reversed a second time" I have reversed a plant for pollen and seeds, I then regenerated that plant and grew it out again later. I don't suggest doing it. It is a lot of work. With a mother plant you don't have to worry about that. Just use another clone.

Some say cloning clones will degrade the cut over time. Lots of people dispute this fact. It will take a long time if you are starting with a plant from seed. Don't worry about that.

The S-2 you saw may have been 2 plants from the same strain. One keeper is reversed to pollinate another keeper from the same batch of seeds.

i have noticed some strains like to "clone"/propagate cuttings MUCH better than others, tend to be the ones i would keep around, like a grow-tent natural selection-

the sr-71 i would and am still running it after years using a method where i will take clones from a mom for a few generations or so, run her, take more - pic the BEST mothers and did that for years and found for a long time if i kept the RH and temps in check and clipped off bad leaves ect and kept the clippings healthy they in turn would increase in vigor through a 5-6 plant selection even over many many runs -
have gone back to more propagation based recently, if i ever (once noticed loss of vigor and or needed to clean out all the equipment and area ect , back up into a BX from one hitting another)- the seed seems to have as much or MORE vigor than the starting plant even, not to mention a lot of resilience to temp swings huge nute changes ect it is just a bruiser in that aspect,

also idk if this is more the environmental control system the resiliance factor or just LUCK , but getting near 100 percent propogation rates , mothering and vegging under one CMH-315w , and notice no diseased leaf ect like under the plublurples, it seems to do well all stages of seed/cuttings veg and keeping a mother (or 2) going as well, can keep Rh in humidty dome in the tent good for propagation and then ride a 55-65% rh and i bet its the small uv-b that comes out (380nm) but it keeps cuttings healthier and root much better than at least "Shitty led" - just a note as any cheap system is like 100-130usd and can do eh 2x4 or even up to 4x4 with better reflectors would wager, have been having good results- note i use an adjustable dual side reflector hood - keeping it open temps are managable - close it at your own risk - have never tried "standard" hoods but looking at how close they hug the bulb or BULBS too much heat - i find opening it and keeping it as high as possible without touching the celling and close to the extractor it keeps it always warmer than ambient but not more than 5-7f in a small tent even-
just for an "all in one" type solution for any plant not on 12/12 a universal nursery/veg room- saves a lot of time/space/-boosts efficiency imo lol checking all the plants in one sweep vs 2 or more tents for that- not saying thats bad if you have the $ and room go for it i would lol but if your on very limited sq ft and power- eh this setup has been doing pretty well for a diy type thing-

a good setup for seed/cutting to at least veg - and or holding plants and then more cuttings if needed having that option in a small package is a godsend for me at least- frees up line and space for the big girls flowerin thats always good imo lol

Defo agree another tent is needed if you want to keep things around. The number of clones wont overwhelm you, as you may not find a keeper from your first round of cloning anyway, so you could just grow the clones out ,and not clone again, or you could choose to dump the clones, and start again with seeds from a new strain. If you find a keeper, then thats just one clone/mother to look after.
Growing from regs, I like to clone everything first time, so once you flip, you can dump the male clones (I wont go into keeping males for breeding at this stage), keep the female clones, try the originals smoke, and maybe have a keeper clone ready to go.
You can areoclone, or you can use a tray with dome. @katsu has a great tutorial somewhere on cloning, and @liftedvermont has shared his method on the Discord.

If you really want to get technical about it. You kind of need 3 tents. I am extremely anal about things sometimes. My veg tent is on 18hrs of light. I like 24 hrs of light for clones. I run a clone tent, a veg tent, and flower tents.

I wanted to mention this, I want you to be prepared LOL. Growing is as much of a addiction as collecting seeds.

Totes and totes of that stuff. I had too many seeds started once. I ended up turning the room I had 2 small tents in. Into a grow room. I had all the equipment laying around so I huge 2 1000 watt HPS and got it done lol.

Like you say it is nice to have a bone pile to pick through when you need something. My 4 x 4 tents sit in the shed next to the totes full of fans, timers, extension cords.
